Terms & Conditions
1. Introduction
Welcome to ArtByJulieRebecca.com. By placing an order through this Site, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with them, do not place an order.
This Site and all sales are operated by Julie Rebecca (Gatward). If you wish to contact us regarding your order or these Terms & Conditions, you can reach us at: julierebeccaart@gmail.com
2. Goods, Descriptions & Images
We offer original paintings, fine-art prints, and merchandise (merch). Each item will be described on the Site with as much accuracy as possible — including size, materials, colours, and any relevant details.
Because computer/phone screens vary, actual colours may look slightly different in real life — we cannot guarantee exact colour reproduction.
Original paintings are unique; slight natural variations or minor imperfections may occur.
3. Prices & Payment
All prices are in GBP (£).
The price displayed is what you pay; all relevant taxes (e.g. VAT, if applicable) will be included where required.
We accept payment by Squarespace Payments. Payment is taken at the time you place your order.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors (e.g. obvious typos) or change prices at any time before you complete payment.
4. Order Acceptance & Contract Formation
When you place an order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. That email does not constitute acceptance of the order.
A contract between you and us is formed only when we dispatch the goods to you, or notify you that your order is ready for dispatch.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason (e.g. suspected fraud, lack of stock, incorrect pricing).
5. Shipping & Delivery
We currently only ship within the United Kingdom.
Shipping costs and estimated delivery times will be displayed during checkout.
Original paintings: will be carefully packaged and dispatched within 2-5 business days after payment (unless otherwise stated).
Fine-art prints and merch: will be dispatched within 2-5 business days (or per the estimated timescale shown).
Risk and ownership of the goods pass to you once the goods are delivered to your address (or to a safe place if left by the courier).
If a courier fails to deliver, or you provide incorrect address details, we cannot be held responsible.
6. Returns, Refunds & Cancellation
6.1 Statutory Rights
Under UK consumer law, you have certain rights. Goods must:
match the description given on the Site;
be of satisfactory quality;
be fit for purpose (given how they are described). wrighthassall.co.uk+2GOV.UK+2
If those conditions are not met (e.g. the goods are faulty or not as described), you have a legal right to request a repair, replacement or refund. wrighthassall.co.uk+2Sprintlaw UK+2
6.2 Distance Selling / “Change of Mind” (Cooling-Off)
Because sales occur over the internet, UK distance-selling laws apply. Unless exemptions apply (see below), you have the right to cancel your purchase without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods. GOV.UK+2businesscompanion.info+2
To cancel, you must notify us in writing (email is fine) within 14 days of delivery.
After notifying us, you have a further 14 days to return the goods. businesscompanion.info+1
Once we receive the returned goods (or you provide evidence of return postage), we will refund the full purchase price plus the original standard delivery charge (if charged). businesscompanion.info+2Citizens Advice+2
Return shipping costs are your responsibility, unless the item is faulty or misdescribed. businesscompanion.info+1
6.3 Exceptions / Non-Returnable Items
Because of the nature of some products (original paintings, custom work, prints made-to-order), certain items may be exempt from the standard 14-day “change-of-mind” return right. Sprintlaw UK+2Sprintlaw UK+2
For example, original paintings or unique pieces may be designated “final sale — non-returnable unless faulty.”
If a product page clearly states it is non-returnable or made-to-order, you must explicitly accept this before ordering.
6.4 Faulty or Damaged Goods
If an item arrives damaged or is faulty / misdescribed:
You must contact us immediately (ideally within 14 days) with photo evidence of the damage/fault.
We will offer a refund, replacement, or store credit depending on stock and the nature of the item.
Return postage will be covered by us (unless otherwise agreed).
7. Intellectual Property & Use of Artwork
All original artwork, fine-art prints, images, text and design of this Site remain the intellectual property of Julie Rebecca / ArtByJulieRebecca.
Purchase of a painting or print gives you the right to own that physical item — it does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.
You may not reproduce, scan, photograph (for commercial use), redistribute or resell the artwork (digital or physical) without our prior written consent.
8. Website Use & Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others, interfere with site operation, or attempt to reverse-engineer or copy content.
You may not use automated scripts or tools to scrape images, copy text, or for any unauthorised use.
9. Liability Limitations
Except in cases required by law (e.g. personal injury, statutory consumer rights), our liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the goods.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential or punitive damages due to use of the Site or goods purchased.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or change these Terms & Conditions at any time. Any changes will apply to new orders placed after the changes are published. It’s your responsibility to check the T&Cs periodically.
11. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions and any transactions through this Site are governed by the laws of England & Wales.
